Pity party time

Great analysis from the folks over at the Famil Research Council.

Hospital Visit Horrors? Here's The Rest Of The Story

In a series of interviews the next day, I emphasized that the Family Research Council does not have any objection to such visitation in principle, as long as it is premised on the patient’s personal choice rather than on a redefinition of family or marriage. However, I also pointed out that the main reason this is even a topic of discussion is because it is used as a political talking point by the advocates of same-sex “marriage,” who see it as a golden opportunity to tug at people’s heartstrings and generate emotional sympathy for their cause. I further asserted my belief that the frequency with which homosexuals are barred from visiting their partners in the hospital is grossly exaggerated.

Hidden agenda in plain sight

California Asks IRS To Change Tax Code To Accommodate Same-Sex Couples
If the Internal Revenue Service caves to a request from the California Legislature, it could change the tax code for the entire nation. California has issued a joint resolution asking the IRS to defer to state law on how to treat the property belonging to registered domestic partners and same-sex couples. AJR 29 does not have the strength of law, but conveys the Legislature’s opinion. Everett Rice, legislative coordinator with the California Family Council, said such a move by the IRS would set a dangerous precedent. "It’s the stealth way," he said, "of getting around all the states that have said, 'We support marriage between a man and a woman,' and 'Do not redefine it."

Adoption Agencies May Be Forced To Violate Religious Principles
Rep. Pete Stark, D-Calif., has introduced legislation that would force adoption agencies to consider placing children in same-sex households, even if it violates that group's moral and religious values. The bill (H.R. 4806) forces federally funded agencies to ignore sexual orientation, gender identity or marital status when placing children even though studies show kids do best in homes with a married mother and father.

Same-sex 'Divorce' Case Dismissed
The Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals has said "no" to a lesbian divorce. Legal Counsel Tim Tracey of Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) explains that what was at stake in the case was the validity of Oklahoma's marriage law. "If you look at this situation, it's almost absurd," he comments. "What you have here is a fraudulent attempt to try to undermine the marriage amendment of Oklahoma that was passed by 76 percent of the voters. So you have here a same-sex couple that alleged that they were married in Canada, but yet they could never even produce a marriage certificate." The two still sought a divorce by going through the "back door and trying to get an Oklahoma court to recognize it." "[The court] saw this for what it was," Tracy notes. "It was a fraudulent attempt by a same-sex couple to undermine the voice of the people in Oklahoma, and they dismissed it outright. So we think this is the end of the road for that."

Obama funds (homosexual) education

While he won't lift a finger to continue funding the D.C. school voucher program (you know, the place where the public school system is attrocious by any metric - and that's being kind), Obama is more than willing to increase the funding by tens of millions to his homesexual propaganda czar:

President Obama Wants To Give More Taxpayer Money To Controversial Education Czar
President Obama's proposed budget would allocate $410 million for programs overseen by his new "safe school czar," gay activist Kevin Jennings. That's an increase of $45 million. Family advocates are concerned, because Jennings used the so-called "school climate" phrase as a tool to promote homosexuality in schools as the founder of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network. Candi Cushman, education analyst with Focus on the Family Action, said parents should be concerned with how Jennings might spend the money. "He's been quoted saying he wants to spend as much as $70 million on so-called 'school climate' projects," she said. U.S. Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, said the president is not to listening to the outcry over the safe school czar.

Girl Scouts, run for your lives!

The UN has been working for years to undermine parental rights and attempting to coerce countries into adopting their "sexual education and freedoms" propaganda. If you're involved in Girl Scouts, I think it's safe to say it's time to abandon ship.

Girl Scouts Team Up With Planned Parenthood
Please be aware that the following paragraphs contain graphic and profane advice about sexual activity. But I print it to remind you of just how wicked is the organization who came up with this stuff, Planned Parenthood. For the brochure (entitled, “Healthy, Happy and Hot" and directed at youth who have HIV) not only encourages sexual perversions but quite dangerous perversions at that. And, one other thing, this brochure was distributed with the enabling assistance of the United Nations...and the Girl Scouts of America!
...
The Girl Scouts, along with the YMCA have been co-moderating a young women’s caucus that included an “Intergenerational Conversation” side event on “universal access” and “reproductive health.” One recent Girl Scout project “aims at securing the right of women, men and adolescents aged between ten and twenty-five, to better reproductive and sexual health.”?? Also at CSW last week, the heads of various powerful UN agencies including the UN Population Fund, UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), UN Children's Fund and the World Health Organization released a “UN Joint Statement” under the name of the "UN Adolescent Girls Task Force," which calls for their agencies to promote and support programs "that empower -- adolescent girls, particularly those aged 10 to 14 years."
